Located in southern Peru at an altitude of 3399m, Cuzco, also known as Cusco or Qosqo (meaning navel of the earth) is considered the oldest living city on the American continent with a continuous habitation extending for over 3000 years.
Cuzco is still laid out much as it was in Inca times. The Incas conceived their capital in the shape of a puma with the river serving as the spine, Sacsayhuaman the head and the main city centre the body. Almost every central street has remains of Inca walls, arches and doorways...
Linda: "We started our Cusco walking tour at 9:30 am. We visited an alpaca factory and learned how to identify real baby alpaca products. Few of us purchases some Christmas gifts there..."
